Celebrations are important, and the choice of location for birthdays, anniversaries, receptions, showers, organization and business meetings is key to their success. The Dundee Bistro’s Salud Room has provided the ideal setting, service and cuisine for hundreds of successful, memorable parties since 1999.
VENUE: The Dundee Bistro is prominently situated on the main street of Dundee, a small city centered in Oregon Wine Country, a 45 minute drive from Portland. Dundee itself is the hub of wine touring and gateway to the valley’s agricultural zone. The town is home to several of Oregon’s largest wineries and a number of boutique winery tasting rooms. The Salud Room, featuring a fireplace and sound system, can comfortably seat up to 40 guests for seated lunches or dinners; 50 people for stand up receptions and buffets. There is ample on-site parking for cars, buses and limousines.
FOOD: From its inception,The Dundee Bistro has been a leader in sourcing fresh ingredients from neighboring farms, ranches and waters, seeking organically produced foods whenever possible. The dining room menu constantly changes. Foods are house made, from pasta to soups, sauces and desserts. Executive Chef Christopher Flanagan relies on the pure flavors of his prime ingredients: vegetables, fruits, wild mushrooms, lean meats, fish often delivered by the fishermen, herbs from the garden, olive oil; the kitchen uses very little butter or bacon. The resulting dishes are light, healthy, delicious and beautiful. Chef Flanagan and Manager Solomon Allen will confer with private events hosts to design meals and refreshments to complement unique celebrations and determine costs.
WINE: The Dundee Bistro is owned by a wine family; not surprisingly wine selection and service is of high importance. Wine offerings range the world with emphasis on Pinot Noir. All staff has substantial wine knowledge with Sommelier Christopher Berry available to answer questions and provide special needs. Wines are all served in varietally appropriate Reidel glasses. Beverages include a full bar, fine teas and locally roasted coffee.
SERVICE: The majority of servers and cooks at The Dundee Bistro has been on staff for years and has experience with events from cocktail parties to multi-coursed dinners. Servers for parties in the Salud Room are exclusively assigned to events for the duration of the party. Service includes tablecloths and candles. Flowers, more elaborate decorations and needs specific to the party can be arranged. If the host elects to supply their own dessert, a $30.00 cake cutting/service fee is applied.
RESERVATIONS: In order to ensure your party’s success with attentive service and privacy, a credit card number is required at booking. If plans change, notice of cancellation must be made one week prior to event date; otherwise a cancellation fee of $100 will be charged to the credit card on file. The exact number of guests must be confirmed a minimum of 48 hours prior to the event. A gratuity of 20% will be added to the single bill to be settled at the conclusion of the event.
